LCSD Facilitator/ Director/Department Head/Grade Level Facilitator Job Description

 

Facilitates communication between the department, administration and teachers.  Plans with administration and facilitates efforts to improve student achievement.  Collaborates with the Building Leadership Team (BLT) to communicate the Mission and Vision to all Stakeholders.  Maintains confidentiality and respects privacy in all aspects of this position. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  1. Attend regularly scheduled District and Building Facilitator meetings.
  1. Facilitate the monthly meetings using the Professional Learning Community (PLC) model.

 

  1. Facilitate ongoing review, update and alignment of curricula to meet current New York State Learning Standards.

 

  1. Work in conjunction with building administration and colleagues to plan and organize professional development to meet building needs.

 

  1. Support building administration with all aspects of state and local testing, as assigned.

 

  1. Promote a positive school climate through problem-solving and shared decision making.

 

  1. Provide evidence to support departmental / grade level budgetary requests that are aligned and support District goals.

 

  1. Assist colleagues with the dissemination of departmental information, communicating with parents, and hosting parent meetings, when necessary. 

 

  1. Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
